WebSwami combines the latest technological breakthroughs with strong training methodology to produce a highly effective and motivating learning experience.
A Compelling & Enjoyable Learning Experience
WebSwami offers learners over 10 different activities through which to learn, practice and test themselves. Each activity incorporates many exciting interactions, including matching audio/video pairs and real-time simulations with recorded video actors.

Teaching Screen
Students learn material from personal tutorials introduced and recorded by Instructors.
The video can also be engaging pre-recorded videos showing language used in context, clips from movies or interactive introduction to grammar points etc...
Accent Practice
Students listen to native speakers and then record, comparing their voice to the voice graph. They can then re-record to improve stress, intonation and accent.
Example: practicing changes in intonation and stress for 'Questions' to vary level of politeness, obligation, urgency etc…
Video & Multimedia Matching
You've probably seen text matching activities. WebSwami brings you this amazing new activity, which lets you match any combination of video, audio, image and text!
Examples:
Match images of food with the pronunciation of the words.
Match a video clips showing the stages of dealing with a complaint with the stage number.
Match silent video clips of people showing emotions and match the text / audio of matching phrases.
Simulation
Greatly accelerate fluency with this activity. Student record their voice/video in real time – responding or answering questions either quickly or slowly (depending on level), simulating a real conversation. Afterwards they can review their performance.
Example:
Answering a visitor's questions about locations in your city/campus.
Dealing with questions in a job interview or acting as an interviewer.
Writing
Write letters, articles, reports etc. for any given situation. Using common word-processing formatting tools, any kind of situation can be adapted and written about in any language!
Flash Game Integration
Many of us have access to thousands of Flash games. Using this activity any one of those games can be integrated into WebSwami seamlessly so that fun and highly addictive games can appear seamlessly with your lessons.
Example: Import fun Hangman style cartoon games and crosswords which requires students to guess common vocabulary, industry jargon. Got a Flash game you want? Feel free to commission us to make it for you!
For automatically marked activities such as gap-fill and matching exercises, instant answers are given to learners for incorrect and partially correct answers. Furthermore, for some oral activities a model audio/video is played back after answer submission, so that learners don’t need to wait for feedback.
Key Fluency Practice
WebSwami incorporates pedagogically sound activities targeting controlled practice and fluency building. This allows learners to begin sessions with the more simple listening gap-fills, sentence ordering and speech modelling, and then to move on to more sophisticated real-time simulations, instant translation and open-ended video presentations.
Higher level learners may wish to jump straight in at the deep-end with simulations, and there are of course many different combinations and orders in which activities can be presented depending on the purpose of the lesson.
Unique Voice Graph
Getting the correct stress, rhythm and timing and especially the intonation is vitally important to communicate well in any spoken language. WebSwami is the first online training system with an intonation graph as well as the more traditional stress graph.
Any audio/video, whether it be content or a learner’s recording, automatically generates a voice graph. This lets the learner visually compare their voice with a model example, providing an instant and more tangible measure of improvement.
To master tonal languages (such as Mandarin), and the subtle inflections in others, WebSwami’s breakthrough voice analysis should be an essential part of learning.
WebCam Video Recording – an Industry First
Traditional language labs and training systems have failed to integrate video recording. Only WebSwami gives learners the benefit of recording live through their WebCams. Seeing their own video improves the learner’s performance in all areas, (especially fluency and confidence) and makes elearning simulations far more fun and engaging – every learner becomes a star!
WebSwami is built on the same Adobe Flash technology as YouTube and other renowned video websites, making it the most internet optimized and user-friendly system in the industry.
One-to-One Attention & Feedback
Skills improvement comes from realising mistakes and learning better strategies. Not only can instructors review every audio/video recording that learners make, they can also leave in reply a video, audio or text message to correct, instruct or praise a piece of work. Learners conveniently access new feedback messages in the ‘Message List’ without having to search through multiple lessons.
Whilst traditional elearning often becomes very distant and cold, learning with WebSwami is far more personal, effective and motivating.
